About My Father’s Books
Meet Melinda and Brittany, a mother and a daughter team who enjoy spending time together in so many ways; laughing, musing, writing, traveling and sharing stories of children, family, and friends. They’ve solved the world’s problems together, at least those in their personal worlds, walked sunrises together and shared bottles of wine (not at the same time). And they get together up close and personal, as often as is possible.
Brittany is an attorney specializing in employment law & intellectual property law and has an undergrad degree in Journalism with a minor in English from Georgia State University. She has lived in Georgia for 20 years and is the mother of two sets of twins. She’s married to Ryan and she is as crazy about her daily workouts as she is about reading. She loves to travel & loves her dog, Murphy.
Melinda began her career as a teacher in Saudi Arabia which provided a very quick pathway to a travel addiction that she continues to “suffer” from. She is currently the Chief Academic Officer and VP of Programs at one of the country’s largest Boys & Girls Clubs but prior to this she spent years as a counselor working with children in Milwaukee. Melinda is also the mother of twins – but only one set, Brittany’s younger siblings who are two years younger. Melinda married the love of her life, Greg Jansen, when Brittany and her siblings were teenagers and together, they were Nonna and BopBop to their eleven amazing grandkids. Greg passed away in July of 2023 which brought Melinda and Brittany together for the creation of My Father’s Books.
