The Marriage Portrait, Maggie O’Farrell

I read this in Puerto Rico after my dad died. Honestly I was surprised I could even focus, but it was the perfect escape. I traveled to Florence 9 months later and I was surprised how the author was able to capture the colors in the skies and the topography.(I had a book list for Italy before I left and this was one of them.) O’Farrell is a great writer and describes things in such beautiful detail, and it was particularly interesting when contrasted with such a DARK story. This is historical fiction about the Ferrara family and the mysterious death of a very young bride. I recommend it.
